The Bahrain Paralympic Committee proudly supports the many different organizations that are dedicated to the different Impairments faced by our community and Pata athletes.
The Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) was established in 2017 by a resolution issued by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs. BPC was created as the official body to support and develop the athletic potential of People with Impairments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In 2019, the committee’s first board of directors was formed, laying the organizational and operational foundations that contributed to its official launch towards achieving its strategic objectives.
We are committed to empowering Para athletes by providing training, development programs, and opportunities to compete at local, regional and international levels. Our goal is to help them grow, achieve their potential and proudly represent Bahrain in the Paralympic sports.
BPC collaborates with government bodies and different organizations to ensure Para athletes receive the support, resources and recognition they need to succeed and inspire.
Although BPC was formally established in 2017, Bahrain has been active in Paralympic sports since the 1970s. Today, we continue building on that legacy by expanding opportunities for participation, competition and awareness across the Kingdom.
